Job Title: Water Meter Installation Technician
Location: Decherd, TN
Pay: Piece Rate – Up to $1,750/week or more based on production

Project Length: Approx. 1,900 meters to install
Job Summary:
We are seeking motivated and reliable Water Meter Technicians to install residential and small commercial meters for the City of Decherd, TN. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and their own reliable vehicle to use during the installation process.
Project Details:
Meters Installed: Kamstrup meters with internal antenna
Quantity: ~1,906 meters
Meter Sizes: Mostly 5/8” x 3/4” – with some 1” and 2” meters (mark and skip large meters)
Coverage Area: 15-mile radius around Decherd (80% suburban/20% rural)
Access Type: 90% in setters, 10% straight line
Pay Structure:

$15/hour
$20/day food allowance
$15/day fuel reimbursement

Travel Reimbursement:
Gas reimbursed from project start with valid receipts
Job Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Current auto insurance
Reliable vehicle suitable for transporting tools and meters
Ability to work independently and meet daily production targets
Physically capable of lifting meter lids, operating hand tools, and working in all weather conditions
Must maintain neat workspaces and restore all meter sites to equal or better condition, including:
Grading, grassing, mulching
Ensuring boxes are flush to grade
Drilling plastic lids as needed
Other Notes:
20% of meter boxes are in pavement
70% of existing boxes are plastic, 20% concrete, 10% steel
Be prepared to identify special meter sizes or conditions and keep moving
Work orders must be completed and reported daily
